“…she stopped paying close attention to his words and when at red lights, examined the rain drops spattering on the windshield so intently that she almost stared right through them. Each drop seemed stuck on the glass, until another drop landed on it and they rolled down the window together, ending in a climactic splash.”

I post and reblog: things I think are pretty, things that intrigue me, things I'm a fan of, and things I care about.

Common themes include: books, writing, movies, more books, cozy beds, breakfasts, Doctor Who, Sherlock, feminist issues, and occasional pieces of my life.

I had an excellent Halloween (yes, I know Halloween is actually on Monday, but this is when we had parties and things) this year.
There was brunch, an impromptu trip to Starbucks with Alex, a quick Target run, a weird but ok dinner in which everyone was uncomfortable with a certain gentleman’s (hopefully temporary) Halloween costume facial hair (his girlfriend was so skeezed out that she threatened to withhold sex if he doesn’t shave it off immediately after having it for his costume), fun dressing up, excellent improv comedy, a fun friend party, a mercifully short breeze through the big main party for the whole school, watching clips from our sketch comedy group in our lounge with a couple of hallmates, and now I’m in cozy sleeping clothes, in my bed, eating Dove chocolates with inane advice on the wrappers, and tumbling.
Oh, and there’s snow.  Which is weird.
I got to be Liz X!  From the Doctor Who episode “The Beast Below”!
I wore boots that I bought for this purpose way back on my birthday in March, from a thrift store in Edinburgh, black tights, a black shirt dress that somewhat resembles Liz’s, a black belt, small water guns instead of ones that look like hers because they were easier to find and were fun to squirt, a fabulous cloak, red nail polish, and a half mask that I borrowed from the theater department (they didn’t have any full ones).
And even though most people didn’t recognize me, the ones who did were very excited about it!
All in all, I had a great time!
